FAQ

What's the difference between a cleaning person and a professional organizer?

A cleaning person or cleaning service will complete tasks like vacuuming, scrubbing toilets, dusting, and washing counters.

By contrast, a professional organizer will work with you to address your deeper organizational challenges.

You can hire a professional organizer to help simplify and optimize your garage so you can access camping gear and find tools easily, sort through over-stuffed closets and organize them so they function better, and assist seniors with the challenging transition of moving from a house to a small apartment.

Will you make me throw out stuff?

No. I will offer suggestions, but you decide what to keep, sell, donate, and discard. Although, if mentally you are not ready to get rid of any items, you're probably not ready to hire a professional organizer.

Are you pet friendly?

Absolutely! I have a dog and grew up with a dog and cats.

Should I purchase storage containers before you come?

This isn't necessary as we will use what you have on hand, and by minimizing possessions you may find you have leftover storage containers. However if you have a few shoeboxes or similar type boxes for dividing space in drawers, that would be helpful. Clear containers are best for shelves so contents can be easily seen, though we can also label containers that are not transparent.

How long will it take me to get organized?

There are two factors involved here: How much stuff you have, and how quickly you make decisions. This drawer took 20 minutes to organize. The person easily decided what to donate and the keepers were folded and put away. An average bedroom or kitchen can typically be organized in three to four hours. An office space may take longer because of the papers involved. You'll be amazed at what can be accomplished in your home with a professional organizer in just a few hours.
